The Network of East-West Women
Books & Journals Project

Since its beginnings five years ago, NEWW has contributed books and journals from the now vast literature of modern women's movements to women's centers and to individuals in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

Women in the CEE and FSU wishing books and journals may send their requests to NEWW. Individuals in the West contribute back issues of journals as well as review and examination copies of books. NEWW also buys books in bulk, receives donations in money, and buys second-hand books. NEWW has also used several existing book donation projects to feed researchers and libraries, like those of the American Council for Learned Societies and the Book and Journal Donation Project of the New School for Social Research.

Ann will let you know what books or journals are needed and where. She would be particularly grateful if you can mail books or journals directly. Donations can be sent by sea, by the least expensive postage.

Requests can most readily be filled when the titles requested are still in print. Please note: If books or journals are out of print, we may not be able to fulfill your request. Please be patient. We continue to gather books and distribute them, but there is no set schedule. It may take a few months for your request to be filled.
